Fender Deluxe tube combo amps are among the most treasured guitar amplifiers of all time, and the Deluxe VM amplifier takes that sought-after Deluxe formula into a new era of "Vintage Modified" performance by combining a real tube amp with a complement of essential effects. Its 40W tube platform provides a foundation of great tone to build on, and the versatile tube preamp offers a wide range of tone and gain settings—from world-standard Blackface Fender clean to aggressive overdrive with post-gain EQ. The Fender Deluxe VM's high-quality Digital Signal Processing platform adds reverb, chorus/vibrato, and delay effects with the convenience and "tweakability" of standard stompboxes without the need for extra cables or power supplies.

This amp is great! You don't have to lug around a pedal board unless you want to. This has a drive channel in addition to the clean channel, and for effects a really rich reverb, a delay and chorus. Setting up and changing the delay and chorus might take a minute or two to get used to, but it's nothing that would require a rocket scientist in the slightest. The effects and channels are controlled by a 4-buton pedal box connected to the rear via a 7-pin DIN cable. The amp is good and loud and the 12" speaker is plenty. Lots of tonal range. Some reviewers on the web have complained that it is not built as strong as other Fender amps case-wise. I disagree, but I would like to see the metal scuff protectors on the corners of the amp. I'll have to do that as a retrofit myself, but no big deal. I think I'll also add casters. The amp weighs about 40.0 pounds, but I can see that after a few minutes lugging ti, the decimal point drops out. All in all, if you're looking for a vintage sound tube amp, and don't have any stock effects on hand, but might want to add some of the more esoteric stuff later on, this is a good choice.
