Heartbreakers in the House! Ron Blair and Scott Thurston stop by Chicago Music Exchange

After rocking the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival Heartbreakers Ron Blair and Scott Thurston visited us at Chicago Music Exchange. Ron Blair is the original bassist for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, in the band from 1975 to 1982 returning to the group in 2002 after a 20-year hiatus. Scott Thurston joined the Heartbreakers for the Touring the Great Wide Open tour in 1991, which became a permanent spot for Thurston in the band’s lineup. Thurston plays acoustic and electric guitar and bass guitar; lap steel guitar; ukulele; harmonica; keyboards; and he has become the band's exclusive harmony singer.

Scott and Ron hung out with us for the afternoon checking out our Vintage Vault, checking out the Hendrix Rosewood Stratocaster and our coveted Looney Burst. This summer there's no Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Chicago gig so they were just passing through on their way to Pittsburgh, we're going to catch them next week at Milwaukee Summer Fest.
