David A

Mr. Black Pedals

David's Pick

"EVERY Mr Black pedal I've played has a soul, a sadness, a joy, a rage, and a delicateness that is truly unique, ambitious, glorious and inspiring. I'm re-born."

Tricia Scully

Carr Raleigh 3W 1x10 EL84 Combo

Tricia's Pick

"The Carr Raleigh 3 watt tube amp is a mighty little amp with great tone. I really love how compact and portable it is, without compromising overall sound. The clean channel is fantastic and bright, and when the volume is turned up to the point of natural breakage, there’s a really nice crunch that happens."

Dan Albert

Collings I-35 LC Faded Cherry Aged Finish w/3-PLY Black Pickguard & Lollar Imperials

Albert's Pick

"This guitar is so unbelievably stupid good. I wish I had better words to describe it, but it's so far beyond measure and comparison that any description will fail to measure up. The new Collings aging treatment is remarkably tasteful, the Lollar Imperials are always perfect, and the Collings laminate construction is a very resonant step above every other ES-style guitar on the market. Listen up builders, this is what your semi-hollow should aim to be!"

Matt Kashuda

SEYMOUR DUNCAN 805 OVERDRIVE PEDAL

Matt's Pick

"My staff pick is the Seymour Duncan 805 overdrive. I've never been a fan of TS style pedals, but this one has been a game changer for my rig. The active EQ and wide range of volume and gain give this a ton of versatility, from tightening up a dirty amp, to some slight grit for solos. I love this pedal!"

George

Waterloo WL-14 L Acoustic in Sunburst

George's Pick

"Coming out of the Colling's factory in Austin Texas, Waterloo's capture the raw, classic delta blues tones that came out of the depression era. The big difference though is the playability and high quality construction that was lacking from those guitars. I love the ladder brace version, as it's incredibly responsive and open sounding, and fantastic for finger style playing. Play with a pick and the guitar turns into a little cannon! The neck is true to what you'd find on an old Kalamazoo, as it has a vintage style V shape that feels like it's been played for years. This one is perfect for the front porch!"

Ryan Luciani

LUDWIG BLACK BEAUTY 6.5X14 SNARE DRUM

Ryan's Pick

"Considered one of the best snare drums on the market, this is an extremely versatile snare, great for both Rock and Jazz. Its's bright with a ton of warmth, very powerful, and looks fantastic on any kit. The Black Beauty is one of the most used and recorded snare drums out there. It's by far my favorite snare in live situations and in the studio. Simply put, after 70 years of great tones it's a living legend."
