Chicago Music Exchange ships most orders with UPS, so you have peace of mind your order will arrive on time and in the same condition as when it left our store. At checkout we give you multiple UPS service options, each with an additional fee based on the weight and dimensions of the package. Before you complete your purchase you can calculate the exact cost for each option. If the item is eligible for free shipping, and you choose that option, the order will automatically ship UPS ground.
Items eligible for FREE shipping: Most items in our store are shipped UPS Ground service at no cost to you, except where indicated. Exceptions include items over 35 lbs., and items that are restricted from free shipping by the manufacturer. See our Free Shipping page for details
Manufacturer's Restrictions: Note that certain manufacturers put shipping restrictions on some products, including some products that cannot be shipped to international destinations.
UPS tracking number: After your purchase is completed, and as soon as the order is shipped, you will receive a confirmation via email with a UPS tracking number you can use to track the status of the package.
Delivery time: When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Shipping rates: the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
How to Return an Item - No Hassles
New, Unopened items: You may return most NEW, untouched, unopened items within 15 days of delivery for a full refund. if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.) we'll also pay the return shipping costs. AmEx credit cards: Note that if your order was paid using an AmEx card we may pass on a 3.5% fee of the purchase price to process your refund.
Vintage, Used items: We have to evaluate vintage and used guitars, amps, and other items on a case by case basis. We spend a lot of time with you and the item before your purchase to try to avoid any surprises after your purchase. AmEx credit cards: Note that if your order was paid using an AmEx card we may pass on a 3.5% fee of the purchase price to process your refund.
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, we strive to issue your refund sooner than that. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
