Brimstone Audio Ouroboros OB-1 Dual Band Effects Loop

Everyone knows that the more effects pedals you turn on at once, the messier the sound gets.  This can be desirable up to a point, but there's certainly a limit - and the Ouroboros smashes that limit to smithereens.  Instead of having all your effects tripping over one another, the Ouroboros provides two effects loops that can be layered together in multiple ways.  The Ouroboros can do a standard parallel blend configuration, but the real star of the show is Brimstone Audio’s innovate dual-band architecture, which uses a variable crossover to split your signal into high and low frequencies and route each to separate effects loops.  You can then plug any effect into one of these loops and apply it only to the high or low frequencies of your sound.  Now, instead of fighting with itself, your multi-effect tone becomes a beautiful, harmonious symphony.

Studio engineers have been applying effects to specific frequency bands for decades, because the sound is simply better.  The Ouroboros gives you access to this higher realm of sonic clarity, but in real time, with all you favorite effects, and won't charge you an hourly rate.  The secret is the dual band design, and the result is the redefinition of what is possible for effects enthusiasts of all types.

A heavily effected tone can decrease playing dynamics, but the Ouroboros actually increases them.  When a lower note is played, the effects inserted in the low band loop will take prominence, and when a higher note is struck, the effects in the high band loop will shine.  The holy grail of guitar tone is to have a wide array of tonal possibilities at your fingertips without having to adjust any knobs or settings, and the Ouroboros delivers this in unprecedented fashion.

The Ouroboros is also quite flexible.  Internal dip switches enable use with line-level rack effects, drum machines, and synthesizers, and other types of studio applications.  Parallel mode allows users an alternate way to layer multiple effects, or to add a clean blend to any pedal, with the mix knob providing precise control of the balance between the two signals. Series mode allows for instant access to the full range sound of any pedal plugged into
the Ouroboros, so it's not necessary to unplug a pedal from the Ouroboros to get its normal sound.

Simple in design and complex in nuance, the Ouroboros is an ingenious device which breathes new life and new possibilities into all your favorite stomp boxes.  It will soon be a must-have for all effects-pedal enthusiasts.
