Body: Alder, refinished

Neck: Maple neck with a “C” profile (pencil reads “6-60,” sn dates 60/61) 1 5/8” wide nut, rosewood fretboard, 7.25” radius, and dot inlays

Pickups/Hardware: Kluson deluxe tuners, two single-coil pickups (rated at 6 kOhms in the neck and 6.1 k in the bridge), three-way pickup selector switch, volume and tone controls (pots date to 1960)

Cosmetic Condition: It doesn’t get any better than this Tele! The top is beautifully worn, with plenty of edge wear, as well as a handful of dings and light scratches. There is a very strong amount of edge wear along the top side near the rear strap button, where the edge has become rounded, and the binding corn through. The gold hardware has aged into a very pleasing, almost psychedelic pattern. The back and sides continue the edge wear, with the addition of plenty of buckle rash and finish chips. The neck is mostly smooth and feels very nice, while the headstock shows a few dings, and some finish chipping along the back. This Fender is an amazing piece of history!

Playability: The strings are nice and low, play great, and ring out clearly across the board.

Modifications/Repairs: Refinished body with a repro logo on the headstock. There are two doweled holes from previous pickguard configurations. The neck pickup has been replaced, with aged covers. The body was is routed to accommodate either a P-90 or a mini-humbucker in the neck position. The 7th fret marker is cracked. The fretboard has a chip at the bass side of the nut. The A-string tuner has been replaced with a Kluson double line tuner. There is a two-inch strip of the binding along the top side lower bout edge has been sanded and rounded down.
