Neck: Mahogany neck with a medium-slim round profile, 1 9/16” wide nut, rosewood fretboard, 12” radius, and trapezoid inlays (serial number dates to 1968)
Pickups/Hardware: Gibson deluxe tuners, two humbuckers (Tar back pickup in the neck, rated at 14.8kOhms and ’57 Classic pickup in the bridge, rated at 7.6kOhms), three-way pickup selector switch, independent volume and tone controls (J style pots)
Cosmetic Condition: The body has a fair among of play wear, dings, and scratches but looks pretty good for its age. The cherry finish has faded to a nice natural brown. There is some finish wear along the treble horn as well as along the other body contours. There is also a stable crack along the output jack that goes all the way through the body. The back of the body has a good amount of buckle rash and other finish wear but is overall structurally sound. The neck has lots some of it’s gloss at the first position and at the heel. There are few other light dings and bits of finish wear as well. The headstock has a repaired crack as well as some checking lines and wear around the edges. It’s also been refinished to a nice sunburst tone and had a glitter “Gibson” logo added. Overall, this is a unique SG with lots of character!
Playability: The strings are set up nicely, play well, and fret clearly across the board.
Modifications/Repairs: The headstock has been repaired and finished in sunburst, the body was once cherry but has faded, there is *a route to accommodate an extra (now removed) switch, "you suck" written under guard, trapeze tailpiece removed and replaced with an ABR 1, one 57 classic pickup, J-style pots, brass nut, repro guard, repro rod cover, repro control cover, glued crack in body going from input jack through to conrol cavity, glitter logo, repro tuners, refret
