Mission Engineering Delta III Distortion/Fuzz

Brand New

Description & Specs

The Mission Delta III is a flexible distortion pedal capable of a huge range of tones from Screamer style overdrive to extreme fuzz. Delta III features the best of the analog and digital worlds, with a three transistor all analog audio path, and micro-

controller managed digital switching. A Pro-Audio output buffer ensures compatibility with other pedals, making Delta III usable with almost any instrument in any rig.

Specs:
  • Mission Tri-Stage distortion ranging from overdrive to fuzz
  • All analog audio path
  • Isolated digital bypass. Fast and quiet switching with soft touch button
  • Hi and Lo range EQ controls
  • Compatible with wide range of instruments
  • Can be placed anywhere in signal chain
  • All aluminum construction, weighs just 12oz
  • Works with any power input from 9v - 18v dc
  • Standard Silicon and Special Edition Germanium versions

Delta III features a three-transistor analog distortion circuit where the third transistor forms an output buffer for compatibility with other pedals. The pedal can be used with a wide variety of instruments and signal chains. Unlike many distortion boxes, the Delta III is not overly sensitive to where it is placed on a pedal board. The voltage bias of the transistors has been adjusted for optimal response as the signal decays, allowing smooth distortion sounds even from very high or low signal inputs.

Two separate EQ controls create a huge tone shaping capability. The Lo Range EQ control allows you to dial in some fatness to the low end without getting too flubby. The Hi Range control will let you roll off some of the high frequencies to prevent harshness.

Proper adjustment of these two controls allows a wide choice of sounds from full frequency response to a mid-range boost.

The Delta III is very touch sensitive, cleaning up with reduced volume or pick attack, and more aggressively clipping, as you play harder. It has also been designed to work with the fuzz compatible Mission VM-PRO and V-BOOST, allowing pedal controlled variable distortion.

The microcontroller managed relay bypass system provides soft-touch on/off with very fast and quiet switching operation. Engaging and bypassing the effect happens in a few milliseconds. The soft touch switch is much quieter than a typical latching switch with no clicks or pops turning the effect on and off. Digital switching is also much more reliable ensuring the pedal will consistently switch over many years use.

A flexible power input allows the pedal to be powered by a DC source from 9 volts to 18 volts. Lower voltage will give a fuzzier sound while higher voltages provide a wide range of responses to the guitar's pickup. Delta III also works perfectly with variable voltage power supplies and low battery simulators.

Delta III features a red anodized aluminum chassis and weighs just 12oz. Top mounted jacks allow easy cabling onto a pedal board. Four aluminum knobs control volume, distortion, and EQ. A status LED indicates successful start up, effect engaged, and effect bypass modes. Two versions are available at launch: The Standard Silicon (Si) version and the Germanium/Silicon hybrid (Ge) Limited Edition.
