Rob Bakes
With over 25 years of experience with fixing thousands of guitars from setups to severely damaged, Rob Bakes aka Robby, has an extensive background in guitar restoration. He became a certified Luthier in 1983, student of Roberto Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix Arizona. In 1984 he worked in the neck department for Hamer Guitars and has loved working on guitars ever since. We are proud to have him on staff here at the Chicago Music Exchange’s Restoration & Repair Department.

Ted Kritikos
Ted Kritikos is a recent transplant to Chicago from Lawrence, Kansas. He studied guitar repair under Jim Baggett at Mass Street Music for five years before finding his way to the CME. He holds an MFA in creative writing from Kansas University and is great restoring and repairing. Ted specializes in guitar setups, woodworking, and all types of restoration. And he is an expert with custom wiring for electric guitars.
