PRS GuitarS | WOOD LIBRARY
Tucked away in an unassuming alcove deep in PRS’s Stevensville, Maryland facility, you’ll find the Wood Library, an incredible caché of tonewoods available to mix and match on any Core PRS. And that’s just what we did to create these memorable models. Constructed just for us in batches of ten at a time, each one is unique, carefully specced with premium hardware, a la carte colors, and hewn from a few unforgettable slabs hand-selected in person by our PRS specialists.
Give the people what they want! A while back, we made the trip to the Paul Reed Smith facility and found some of the choicest 10-Top wood in their massive library and spec'd out some super-solid rockers which continue to roll in! Do these magnificent bursts and flame tops speak your language? It might be time to try one out.
Help us, help you! Send us an email or give us a call and we can help find the perfect Wood Library Guitar to add to your own collection!
American manufacturers began making “artist editions” at least as far back as 1843, when C.F. Martin built the first ever X-braced Martin models for one of the most renowned soloists of the era, Madame Delores N. de Goñi. And although it’s not as often that we see de Goñi model come through Chicago Music Exchange's doors, we sometimes see a fair number of the earliest artist editions and signature models ever commercially produced—including the Gibson Nick Lucas and Roy Smeck models.

So, after Chicago Music Exchange CEO Andrew Yonke opened each of the 120-plus instrument cases, himself, he doubled down on the collection—and just about doubled the number of premium custom shop guitars in our store!
View DetailsInspired by the essence of authentic craftsmanship from the Golden Age of electric guitar design, the new Fender American Vintage II series draws on over 75 years of innovation to bring today’s players the essence of Fender craftsmanship and tone. Featuring period-correct bodies, necks, and hardware, plus premium finishes and specially voiced pickups for each year, the American Vintage II series highlights a dozen instruments from benchmark years when certain models came together—all of which have since been recognized by players, collectors, and historians as pinnacles of Fender instrument production.
