Paul Reed Smith drew legions of fans to Chicago Music Exchange Saturday afternoon. Paul had on hand his "Paul" private stock model guitar that the current production "Paul" is modeled after. Always gracious, Paul chatted with fans/PRS owners about their guitars, PRS history, makes models, helped date and determine what woods were in their guitars, signed guitars, and carried on gregarious conversation.
One fan brought the famed "Chase" guitar made for and played in a Chase banks commercial. You can't miss it in its proprietary Chase blue color.
Another has PRS birds tattooed on his forearms.
Paul stuck around after the meet and greet to film some videos with Chicago Music Exchange. He demonstrated, with the help of Davy Knowles, "The Paul" prototype guitar and discussed the production model and its deviation from the previous PRS "Signature" guitar.
Paul also filmed a killer demonstration of the new PRS HX/DA Amplifier. Paul showed us how to get tones like Hendrix and Allman got out of their Marshall Plexi amplifiers out of the PRS HX/DA with just the flick of a switch.
