The 2017 CME Vault Exclusive Release

Chicago Music Exchange has announced that it will release its first CME-branded, custom-built electric guitar model. The guitar, which was handcrafted completely in house from a combination of rare vintage and modern performance-grade components, will be the company’s most prestigious project and highest appraised instrument offered in the company’s 25-year history.

Set to be listed for global sale on the company’s website later this week, the instrument succeeds the launch of the highly anticipated CME Vintage Vault campaign, honoring the Chicago-based retailer’s most ambitious collection of instruments to date. The forthcoming model was withheld from the collection in anticipation of its own well-deserved official launch at the direction of company CEO Andrew Yonke.

“This is the culmination of a life spent searching for the perfect guitar,” Yonke said. “In fact, the term ‘perfection’ isn’t even good enough to describe it.”

The project is the end result of years of research and development in collaboration with the company’s vintage acquisition managers and esteemed luthiers. The specially selected internal team of builders also consulted with various outside industry experts and well as national artists in the selection of premium tonewoods, circuits and more. Details of the instrument will be embargoed until its official launch, though it’s been revealed that the build incorporates several unique components from highly desirable, rare model years that the retailer has acquired during its years in business.

“I am so lucky to have been part of this creation,” Yonke continued. The vintage and rare components make this collectible model truly one of a kind.”
