Finish Details: Original finish on neck and back and sides of body. The top has been over-sprayed..
Body Material: Maple
Body Details: Maple back and sides with spruce top. The original pick guards were probably removed and the bridge was replaced. The top has been probably over-sprayed, although it black lights old and consistent throughout.
Neck Material: Mahogany
Fingerboard Material: Brazilian Rosewood
Neck Profile: medium "C"
Neck Thickness (IN): 1st- .84" 12th- .94"
Fingerboard Radius: 12.00"
Nut Width: 1-11/16"
Neck Details: One piece mahogany neck with bound rosewood board.
Electronics: A pickup was installed at one time, but it has been removed. There is a barrel jack installed in the end block below the strap button, but it is not connected to anything.
Hardware: The tress rod cover and nut are original. The tuners, bridge, saddles and bridge pins have all been replaced.
Modifications/Repairs: -The original double pick guard has been removed. (Unless this was a special order without the guards.) At some point it has Gibson Folksinger style guards that may have been the way it was original special ordered and those have been removed as well. -The original adjustable bridge has been removed and replaced with a different style bone saddle bridge. -The top has been probably over-sprayed. -The tuners have been replaced with Grovers. -There is a barrel jack installed in the end block, but it is not connected to anything. -There is a small repaired crack on the top, bass side lower bout.
Case Details: Hard shell case.
Cosmetic Condition: The guitar has light play wear for its age. The finish has light checking and dents and scratches throughout. The back of the body has light buckle rash. The metal hardware is nicely tarnished.
Serial Number: 1048X2
Tech Notes: -The guitar plays well with low action. The frets are wide with medium height and light play wear. -There are no traces of the large Everly Brothers style pickguards on this top, and the whole guitar black lights consistent and old. Which means that this was either a special order, or the pickguards were removed and the top over-sprayed a very long time ago. -The serial number dates to 1963. The second to last digit of the serial number has been obscured both on the back of the headstock and the sticker inside the sound hole.
