Neck Details: Laminated maple/walnut/maple neck with a rosewood board, small pearl dot inlays, and a single truss rod adjustable at the headstock. -- The board has been planed and re-fretted. The finish no longer exists on the board from this process. -- Multiple sets of screw holes can be seen on the headstock face under the truss rod cover.
Electronics: Three of Rickenbackers single-coil pickups with a 3-way toggle selector switch. -- The two bottom most controls are volume and tone for the bridge pickup while the top two are joined volume and tone controls for the middle and neck pickups. -- Toggle positions: Down-bridge / Middle-all / Up-middle & neck. -- Three visible pot codes date to 1961. The neck/middle pickup volume pots date code is not legible due to solder joint. -- Misc. solder joints have been touched up and ground wires have been replaced.
Pickup Measurements: n/a - Wiring scheme.
Hardware: Original hardware. -- A brass plaque has been installed to the tail piece.
Modifications/Repairs: The fingerboard has been planed and re-fretted exposing the natural unfinished wood. -- Misc. solder touch ups and replaced wires. -- Brass plague on tail piece.
Case Details: Rectangular, silver vinyl, Rickenbacker hardshell with blue velvet interior. -- Case shows wear and aging throughout. The bottom back (body side) has lost the leather binding and is separating slightly.
Cosmetic Condition: This guitar is nicely aged throughout. Nicks and dings are relatively scarce throughout the top and sides/edges. The back shows lots of nice checking and buckle rash with an area of wear in the finish which is worn through to the wood, roughly 1.5" in diameter. The back of the neck shows wear through to the wood but has been shined to a nice sheen. The hardware has begun to tarnish nicely throughout.
Serial Number: AD303
Tech Notes: This guitar is currently setup with 10 gauge strings, optimal neck relief, and low action. The small frets show little wear. -- The 1961 pot code dates and the "AD" serial number prefix dates this instrument to 1961.
