Description & Specs

The following specs were carefully collected and recorded by a skilled technician. For a more detailed description and questions regarding sound, feel, or cosmetic condition, please visit our Lincoln Avenue showroom or call to speak to one of our Used and Vintage experts.
Finish Details: Original neck finish. The body has been fully refinished.
Body Material: Ash Body
Neck Material: Maple Neck
Fingerboard Material: Maple
Neck Profile: Shallow "C" profile
Neck Thickness (IN): .81" (1st fret), 1.00" (12th fret)
Fingerboard Radius: 7.25"
Nut Width: 1-5/8"
Scale Length: 25 1/2"
Neck Details: Bolt-on one piece maple neck with unbound maple fingerboard, dot inlays, skunk stripe, and heel-adjust truss rod. The neck has a "3-59" pencil date at the heel.
Electronics: The pickups appear to be original 1950s black bobbin Fender single coil pickups. The wiring harness has been completely replaced; controls include 3-way blade switch and master volume/tone controls. These pot codes date to 1991.
Pickup Measurements: 6.0k (neck), 7.0k (bridge)
Hardware: The neck hardware appears to be original, including the single line Kluson Deluxe tuners, as does the "Patent Pending" Fender bridge. The pickguard is a reproduction.
Weight: 6lbs 10oz
Modifications/Repairs: -Non-original wiring harness -Repro pickguard -The body cannot be confirmed as an original 1950s Fender body. Some of the appointments which would confirm this may be present but hidden underneath the refinish, but this cannot be checked.
Case Details: Hardshell case
Cosmetic Condition: The neck finish shows considerable aging, with heavy finish checking present on the fingerboard, along with patches of wear on both the fingerboard and back of the neck. The headstock has some additional checking, along with wear around the edges. The body finish is glossy with areas of finish chipping around the bass bout and string ferrules. There are also areas of orange discoloration, although this may be intentional relic'ing done as part of the refinish.
Serial Number: 50688
Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action, and is currently set up with 10s. The neck has a slight twist, with more relief on the bass side, but the guitar sets up and plays well. The truss rod is also functional. The frets are narrow and fairly low with moderate wear. The body has a 1950s pencil date, although as noted before there are indications it is not an original 1950s body. The neck pencil date and serial number both date to 1959.
