Finish Details: Original, with the exception of a small touchup on the heel where a crack has been repaired, and the area just below the bass F-hole which has been touched up with clear.
Body Material: Maple
Body Details: Semi-hollow body with laminated maple/poplar/maple top, back, and sides. The output jack hole has been enlarged and covered with a plastic disc; this is likely to repair a previous tearout. The body has been converted to a stop tailpiece; the screw holes from the original trapeze tailpiece are visible on the bottom of the guitar.
Neck Material: Mahogany
Fingerboard Material: Rosewood
Neck Profile: "C" profile
Neck Thickness (IN): .798 (1st fret), 1.00" (12th fret)
Fingerboard Radius: 10.00"
Nut Width: 1-9/16"
Scale Length: 24 1/2"
Neck Details: Set-in mahogany neck with bound rosewood fretboard and block inlays. There is a repaired headstock crack, as well as a repaired crack at the first fret. There is also a repaired crack at the heel, which has been touched up.
Electronics: Original Gibson pickups with patent number decals and embossed covers; the wiring harness has been fully replaced. Controls include 3-way toggle selector switch and volume/tone controls for each pickup.
Pickup Measurements: 7.7k (neck), 7.3k (bridge)
Hardware: The strap buttons, pickguard and bracket, tailpiece, and knobs have all been replaced. A plastic disc has been added to support the output jack.
Weight: 7lbs 12oz
Modifications/Repairs: -Full rewire -The body has been converted to a stop tailpiece -Repaired headstock, neck, and heel cracks -Non-original strap buttons, pickguard/bracket, knobs, and tailpiece -Repaired tearout at the output jack
Case Details: Hardshell case
Cosmetic Condition: The guitar shows considerable cosmetic wear, with heavy finish checking and areas where the finish has worn away on the body. There are multiple small dings and other assorted blemishes as well. There are four open screw holes at the bottom strap button from the original trapeze tailpiece, as well as an imprint around the tuner shafts from previous tuner washers. The neck has areas of finish wear and small scratches, as well as a finish touchup over the heel repair. There is also a repaired headstock break which did not go through to the headstock face, and a small crack repaired at the first fret.
Serial Number: 121415
Tech Notes: Plays well with low action and optimal neck relief. The guitar is currently set up with 10s, and the truss rod is functional. The frets are wide and fairly low with light wear. The serial number dates from 1970-1973; the original pot codes aren't available, but the embossed pickup covers suggest 1972.
