Description & Specs

Have you ever wanted the power and girth of a bridge humbucker, and the sweet/bluesy tone of a neck P-90 in one axe? Then this is your guitar. The two pickups complement each other perfectly, allowing you to switch seamlessly between two different tonal characters without losing volume or punch. And combined, they offer up a unique beef-meets-twang tone unlike anything else.

I recommend this product

What a fantastic guitar!

I’ve been playing my Reverend Double Agent W for five months now (even have it on me as I’m writing this), and I love it so much! - First of all, it’s just very well made and set up, which makes it incredibly playable and inviting. I am honestly surprised with the quality you get for around a thousand dollars. The fact that CME double checks the setup probably helped, too. - The sound is better described by YouTube demos than words, I’ll just say that it works great for me with Fender Deluxe Reverb and basically any pedal I throw at the pair. Both pickups sound full and “mature”, if that makes sense. Lately I’ve been playing shoegaze kind of music, but this guitar can do so much more. - The Bass Contour knob is VERY useful and makes the guitar much more versatile. With certain overdrives it acts like a better Gain knob because it also changes the character of gain. I now believe every guitar should have some sort of Bass Cut knob, to be honest. - Wilkinson tremolo deserves a paragraph. It is very responsive yet stable. Tuning is rock solid, at least when paired with nut/bridge lubrication and keeping the guitar clean. The whammy bar installs easily and securely. Very good system that matches the overall high quality hardware of this guitar. - In CME exclusive Coral colorway, this guitar looks fantastic and I literally get compliments for it. Nice vintage vibe with the ebony-looking plastics. And the shape of the entire instrument is just so elegant and cool. Love it. - Some cons: I slightly prefer a narrower Fender style neck, but it took me very little time to readjust. Also the compact packaging of the Wilkinson tremolo makes palm muting on the higher stings trickier that, say, a Jazzmaster. The white-on-chrome knob dots could be a bit more visible because this is a guitar that rewards you if you DON’T just dime every knob. Finally, this guitar is slightly noisy (as in, picking up EMI buzz), but it’s not a huge problem: even with high gain, you just learn to turn off the volume when not playing, like a pro :) All in all, Double Agent W is a fabulous instrument and a great value, I strongly recommend it!
