Cosmetic Condition: The vintage vibes that this Musicmaster is putting out are hard to overlook. The red sparkle refin job is great and doesn’t take away from the aging of the guitar. There is checking throughout the front, back and sides of the body, as well as some small dents. None of the finish is missing. There is a small fleck of a white paint on the back of the bass side horn. The pickguard has yellowed over time but has no stress cracks or damage. The neck of the guitar shows signs of wear in the form of dents. There is lacquer wear on the neck where it meets the body and the headstock. The headstock has some light checking and edge wear. This ’64 Musicmaster has tons of vintage vibe and is a real head-turner, so don’t sleep on it!
Playability: The strings are nice and low, play great, and ring out clearly across the board.
Modifications/Repairs: The guitar has been routed for a humbucker pickup in the neck position. There is an added pot on the lower horn and an added 3-way toggle. The body has been refinished with red sparkle.
