A nice smooth player with moderate wear all around, this thick-neck Strat is a nice piece falling right on the cusp of Fender’s late-‘60s features.  A couple notes of Strat decal minutae—this Strat has one patent number on the headstock decal, marking it from late 1970, as Fender switched from two numbers to one in the middle of the year.  However, the decal does say, “with synchronized tremolo,” a note that was eliminated in 1970.  So it may be from around the middle of the year, perhaps.

Body: Alder with three-tone sunburst finish.  Heavier weight.

Neck: Maple with rosewood fretboard.  Round, wide profile typical of late-‘60s Strat.  1968 neck stamp date.

Pickups/Hardware: Clear, bell-like Strat pickups.  Reverse-F tuners.  1970 pickups dates, 1970 pots.

Setup/Playability: Smooth player with medium-low action.  Original frets have some life left.

Cosmetic Condition: Plenty of wear and dents around edges of body and neck. Very fine checking throughout body.

Modifications: Some replaced wires and touched up solder joints. Repaired pickguard tip.

Case: Non-original hardshell
