The latest limited run from Gibson CUStom Shop is a gorgeously rendered replica of Mike Reeder's own 1959 Les Paul, based on the specifications of his original, serial number 9 0799. Like the original, each of the available 300 pieces is a one of a kind, handcrafted piece of artwork with the added benefits of exceptional beauty, playability and tone. Like Mike's own, each features a stunning, two-piece highly figured flame maple top, an early 1 950's fat neck for authentic vintage Les Paul feel and two custom-wound Custom Bucker pickups dialed in to recreate powerful, balanced tone.
Other key, vintage-inspired features include a lightweight aluminum tailpiece for enhanced tone and sustain. Each also features a hand rubbed, nitro-cellulose finish that's been aged to capture the look of the original, a double-carved top for authentic 50's depth, a single piece, solid mahogany body, and hide glue construction throughout.
Features True Historic Specifications.
