Body: Spruce top with mahogany back and sides
Neck: Mahogany neck with a large “U” profile, 1 9/16” wide nut, rosewood fretboard, 12” radius, and dot inlays
Pickups/Hardware: Gibson Deluxe tuners
Cosmetic Condition: There is some nice checking throughout the body and the top has some dings and additional finish / play wear. The sides have some finish worming on the treble-side waist and the back has dings and scratches throughout. The neck has some texture but is holding up well and the headstock is looking good with some character-building edge wear. This J-35 is a natural born strummer!
Playability: The strings are nice and low, play great, and ring out clearly across the board. There are some divots/wear on the fretboard.
Modifications/Repairs: The neck, back and sides are original while the top appears to be from a J-50. The braces have been reglued and the tuners, nut, and saddle have been replaced. There are repaired cracks in the back and the bridge appears to have cracked and been repaired. Refinished in the ‘50s when the new top was applied.
