Love the color scheme CME chose for this, and the set-up was perfect. I don't need to do a thing to this guitar. Great job by Gretsch and CME.
Glad to hear it and thank you! We love the way these came out as well. - The CME Team
I work down the street from CME so they are my first stop for new gear. I’ve always had good experiences here, the staff is rad and always helpful. I bought this guitar yesterday, and have had a hard time putting it down since. The guitar is gorgeous, gold hardware really pops off the daphne blue finish. Fretwork is well done for a guitar at this price, pretty smooth throughout. Im impressed with the low end clarity of the neck pickup. The bridge pickup nice and bright, almost surfy. There’s plenty of sustain and I had an easier time with harmonics than usual so I’m really happy with this guitar so far. My wife loves the look and sound of it too. Do yourself a favor, get this guitar before it’s gone.
Very happy with the guitar and happy I purchased it from CHE. As you know buying a guitar on line can be difficult but I trusted the review I saw from Andertons hoping they were telling the truth of how great this guitar is. Well, they were not exaggerating. It is not a great guitar for the money it is just great. Overall finish is excellent. The fret edges are very acceptable but Could use the slightest smoothing off. This could also just be because it is winter time. They are Almost as good as my 4x more expensive LP. The neck shape is great. I never played a guitar with a U shape so I was concerned because i have slightly smaller hands. The neck is slightly wider than a 60’s LP but yet somehow is easier to play. Chords and lead. Access to the higher frets is great and the Laurel fretboard is very smooth. The knobs and switches feel very high quality and you can really get a lot of different tones by blending the two pickup volume controls. The pickups sound great to my ears! Before I got the guitar I figured I might need to change them, but I love them. I think they are very well balanced. They do not sound thin or twangy but they do have a nice sparkly treble. With the gain turned up a little you can get all of your favorite classic rock sounds and with a boost pedal the guitar really screams. In the middle position with the tone rolled back slightly and a blues driver pedal you can get a nice blues sound. The sustain is as good as my LP The tuners are functional but I replaced them with grover 406 mini rotomatic tuners which is a great upgrade for $80. They are a perfect fit with no modifications required and the gold is a perfect match. The nut is cut good and I have no tuning issues. I found one fret that is a little higher but I was able to setup the guitar with same action as my other guitars with no fret buzz. The people at ChE are great. I had an issue with a pick up not working correctly. They handled it like I bought a super expensive guitar and had a replacement right out to me. Overall awesome looking guitar that is super fun to play and I would buy another one in a second.
