The JHS Moonshine Overdrive pedal is a unique, and highly tweaked version of the most popular overdrive ever made (hint: it's housed in a small green enclosure). The JHS Moonshine is a valuable tool for all playing styles/genres - from blues, rock and jazz to country and even hardcore metal players. This indispensible guitar effects pedal is great for shaping and creating unique mid-heavy tones for any player.
When using the JHS Moonshine Overdrive pedal, you'll feel super comfortable with the basic Volume, Tone, and Drive knobs - so feel free to tweak. The simple 2-position "Proof" toggle will provide everything from low gain amp-like breakup with powerful colored boost setting to grinding, heavy overdrive that achieves as much amp distortion as you can handle.
The toggle-down will give you the highest gain settings, a ton of saturation and sustain, along with the some serious mid-range goo. In the up position you'll find more open and forceful crunchy tones that will surely test the limits of your amp. The up position also adds overall volume and headroom to players looking for cleaner applications. The Moonshine's tone control goes down real smooth - none of the harsh ice-pick characteristics that most overdrive pedals have in brighter settings.
The JHS Moonshine Overdrive pedal uses an internal 9v to 18v charge pump that allows it to run on normal 9v but converting it internally to 18v for an enormous amount of headroom, added low-end and more overall punch.
At Chicago Music Exchange, we are huge fans of the JHS Moonshine Overdrive pedal. It delivers on any style amp - from classic strat sounds and killer bass guitar tones to huge "wall of rock" force, it may be your last stop in the search for sacred tone.
