Body: Spruce top with maple back and sides

Neck: Maple neck with a medium-round profile, 1 3/4” wide nut, ebony fretboard, 12” radius, and block inlays

Pickups/Hardware: Grover tuners, original D'Armond pickup with 1969 pots, volume and tone controls, input is a 1/8” jack mounted underneath the pickguard

Cosmetic Condition: The top is very clean with just a few light dings (notably along the bass side of the lower bout and below the treble f-hole) and some average pick wear on the guard. The sides are in great shape as well with just some minor yellowing of the binding and a few very minor divots. The back is nice and glossy with a few minor scratches and scuffs and some light hazing but no major damage. There is some discoloration and minor cracking in the binding along the neck heel and back of the cutaway (see photos) but overall the binding is intact. The neck is very smooth and glossy with only light blemishes that do not affect the playability of the guitar. The headstock has some average light dings and scratches but no cracks or repairs. This is a very rare Koontz Hollow Body Jazz guitar with floating D’armond pickup that was part of the famous Tsumura guitar collection. This is a wonderful “Jazz Box” that is a joy to play.

Playability: The strings are nice and low, play incredibly well, and ring out clearly across the board.

Modifications/Repairs: Repaired center seam separation under the tailpiece.
