Neck: Maple neck with a “c” profile, 1 5/8” wide nut, rosewood fretboard, 7.25” radius, and triangle inlays
Pickups/Hardware: Open-back tuners, two single-coils (rated at 8.1 kOhms in the neck and 7.8 k in the bridge), three-way pickup selector switch, independent volume and tone controls
Cosmetic Condition: This 1978 Ric 4001 is badass. The body has aged and worn like w work of art; the top of the body has many marks of play. There is a scratch and some paint missing around the bridge pickup. The guard is cracked around the tone and volume knobs. The sides have many dents and scratches and spots of paint missing. The body has a lot of edge wear. The back of the body is heavily worn. The bass-side of the back has most of the finish removed and heavy buckle rash. The neck has accrued several dents but is feeling good. The headstock shows no sign of fracture or break. The headstock has noticeable edge wear and a scratch on the face. This Ric has some stories to tell!
Playability: The truss rod has limited adjustability. The strings are nice and low, play great, and ring out clearly across the board.
Modifications/Repairs: The screws have been replaced throughout the guitar. The foam on the mute has been replaced.
