The If 6 Was 9 is a modern interpretation of the classic late 60's, early 70's, Fuzz Face circuit with a few updates and modifications. This Custom Shop version features a pair of selected, low gain, new old stock BC108 silicon transistors that offer a little more edge and bite. While these BC108 transistors still maintain a great balance of soul and attitude the overall fuzz character is tighter with a more focused bass response and defined high-end presence.
The addition of an external bias control and 3-way tone switch provide maximum versatility and allow for quick adjustment of the overall fuzz texture. Although the If 6 Was 9 BC108CS has a distinctly vintage flavor it is capable of generating an extremely wide range of useful fuzz sounds, from cutting old school grind to modern gated attack. If soulful fuzz with extra slice is your thing, the If 6 Was 9 BC108CS will be a fantastic sounding addition to your arsenal. This Custom Shop version is offered in a striking, heavy metallic silver colored case with black print and is equipped with modern spec metal film resistors for low noise operation and increased transparency.
