Gibson Les Paul Standard Custom Color Series
Grab a Gibson Les Paul Standard in Your Favorite Custom Color from CME!
While the original Les Paul Standard models may have kicked off the Golden Era of electric guitar design, just a few years after the first Goldtop models were released, musical instrument manufacturers began looking for alternative color options to broaden their potential customer base. By the mid-’50s, the car craze was in full swing, and guitar manufacturers like Gibson turned to the automotive industry for new colors to help inspire would-be Les Paul lovers with a wider assortment of custom finish options.

Now, in a throwback to Gibson’s golden years at the height of the car craze, you can choose from six plain top (solid) custom color finishes, plus six figured top (translucent) custom color finishes—all of which will be sold alongside the CME Exclusive Gibson Original Les Paul Standard 50s and Standard 60s color options (Tomato Soup Burst and Dirty Lemon Burst, respectively), in addition to Tobacco Burst, Bourbon Burst, and Unburst options available at CME!
