Introducing | KITHARA GUITARS
Handcrafted in Northern Ireland, Kithara Combines Bold New Designs With Age-Old Luthiery
Adding yet another boutique European guitar brand to our roster, Chicago Music Exchange is proud to introduce Kithara Guitars!
Individually handcrafted by Chris Moffit in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Kithara carries on the island’s storied heritage of instrument building, holding fast to traditional techniques while pushing forward with a fresh point of view in electric guitar design, creating instruments that are purpose-built to become an extension of any Kithara Guitar player’s individual artistry.
With big-name players like Ariel Posen and Corey Wong adding Kithara Guitars to their gear arsenal, Kithara caught our attention—and, now, CME is giving our customers a chance to add Kithara Guitars to their own collections!

Behind the Builder
With a father who worked as a traditional Irish Sign-Writer, Kithara builder Chris Moffit grew up surrounded by creativity and developed an appreciation for fine handiwork, early on.
Combining his upbringing with a fascination for artistry and a passion for music, Chris studied under master luthiers, including Sam Irwin and Ernie McMillen, who helped him hone his skills in fine woodworking and instrument making, and now he imbues these qualities into every Kithara guitar he builds.
Express Your Individuality With Kithara Guitars at CME!
With Kithara’s line of guitar models, each is designed to serve a particular purpose and voiced to artist specifications, featuring bespoke pickup configurations matched to player preferences.
Whether you’re looking for an S-shape 25.5”-scale Harland baritone model, like Ariel Posen’s, or an offset Fifty-Six model equipped with three single-coils, like Corey Wong’s, or a T-style HS like the Kithara Astral—you can choose stock models available now at CME, or order any custom-built configurations!
