Music Man | Luke 4 Steve Lukather Signature Models
New EBMM Luke 4 Models Match the Tonal Versatility of Lukather’s Own Playing Style w/ HT Pickups!
Ascend to the epitome of playability while experiencing the sonic brilliance of HT pickups w/ the new lineup of Ernie Ball Music Man Luke 4 models now available at Chicago Music Exchange!
Designed to inspire musicians and take their playing to new heights, all EBMM L4 models are outfitted with HT (heat-treated) pickups. Featuring roasted alder bodies, roasted figured maple necks, and rosewood fretboards—except the 30th Anniversary L4 Steamroller, which features an ebony fretboard—the new L4 line lets players effortlessly traverse sonic landscapes, from sparkling cleans to high-gain squeals.
"In our never-ending quest for tone and fresh sounds, the team at Music Man implemented their new HT pickups,” Lukather himself said. “That really knocked me out! As we have had three versions of the guitar, the new L4 model is a fresh step forward in tone with their specially designed pickup technology."

L4 Models — HT Pickups Configurations
Inspired by over a decade of researching the magnetic behaviors for guitar and bass strings, EBMM designed its proprietary HT pickup technology to deliver a dynamic and responsive playing experience, achieving an ultra-high-output, powerful low-end response while retaining a distinctively clean, clear tone and definition at lower volume levels.
The new line of L4 models combines exceptional craftsmanship, familiar aesthetics, and versatile features—available in HT single-coil (SSS) configurations in Scoville Red and Blue Diesel finishes, HT dual-humbucker (HH) configurations w/ flame maple tops in Gator Burst and Blue Flame finishes, or the 30th Anniversary L4 Steamroller (HSS) configuration.

And although it’s not as often that we see de Goñi model come through Chicago Music Exchange's doors, we sometimes see a fair number of the earliest artist editions and signature models ever commercially produced—including the Gibson Nick Lucas and Roy Smeck models.
