Two New Hendrix-Inspired Amps and Cabs from the Maryland Brand
Paul Reed Smith debuts the HX 100 and HX 50, 100- and 50-watt amplifiers featuring the newly-documented “Authentic Hendrix” Touring Circuit, specially designed electronics modeled after one of Hendrix’s personal amps, believed to be the one he used at the Woodstock Music Festival in 1969.

This circuit, powered by EL34H tubes and a custom-designed Straight Edge output transformer, pushes the high-end for a clean and clear sound that can be both intense and aggressive or rolled off and sweet, with little to no noise.
PRS equips the HX 100 and HX 50 with a control set mirroring that of the original, including a 3-band TMB tone stack, 3-way bright switch, high-mid gain switch, presence controls, and internally bridged channels with independent volume controls.
Along with the HX 50 & HX 100, PRS introduces the HX 2X12 and 4X12 cabinets, closed-back poplar plywood enclosures with Celestion GH12-75 Creamback speakers, black tolex wrap, and British-style grill cloth.
Woodstock may have come and gone, but time has told us again and again that Hendrix, and his inimitable sound, are here to stay. PRS has managed to preserve just a piece of it here in the HX Series, amps and cabs with a history made to become a part of yours.
