Boutique Guitar Showcase 2022 at the Chicago Music Exchange!

Nine countries, 24 cities, and thousands and thousands of miles, but the Boutique Guitar Showcase finds its way back to the Chicago Music Exchange again! Catch the Chicago leg of its worldwide tour on Saturday, September 10th, when the mobile guitar convention stops by our beautiful Lincoln Avenue showroom to share and sell masterworks from some of the world’s finest boutique builders.

If you’ve heard Mark Lettieri, Cory Wong, and their uber-funky joint endeavor, The Fearless Flyers, then you’ve undoubtedly heard this guitar in action! Designed by Italian guitar builder Bruno Bacci, the Leonardo Funk Machine is a dual output baritone guitar featuring Bacci’s own electronics, including Bacci Mystery POS single coils for the guitar output, as well as a Bacci Mystery humbucker for the bass output, offering a unique and surprisingly addictive experience that brings new life to any guitarist’s music!

Applying modern guitar-building technique acquired as an apprentice to legendary luthiers, like John Suhr, Marchione offer guitarists boutique instruments—like this Marchione Semi-Hollow—that look, feel, and play unlike any other guitars on the boutique market!

Tone Exploration | The Guitars of Bruce Springsteen

Released on September 30, 1982, Nebraska marked a radical departure for Bruce Springsteen. Recorded entirely alone on a four-track TEAC Portastudio in his Colts Neck, New Jersey bedroom, the album was never intended for release. Springsteen had planned to re-record the songs with the E Street Band, but the raw demos—haunting, intimate, and unvarnished—proved more powerful than any full-band attempt. In their imperfection, he found a truth he couldn’t recreate.
