Description

For those interested in starting out in jazz or Irish music, this 19-fret tenor banjo is an excellent choice.

Based on the best-selling Goodtime Openback banjo, the Goodtime Openback 19-Fret Tenor is tuned in 5ths like a viola or cello (C,G,D,A), and features a full 19-fret scale so commonly found in traditional jazz and Irish music.

It is a delight to play with its short-scale fretboard, slim neck and lightweight body and if desired, can be tuned for Irish G,D,A,E (requires Irish Tenor string set). In both tunings, notes are clear and bold, with just the right amount of punch and sustain needed for tenor playing.

Central to the success of the Goodtimeâ„¢ banjo is the construction which utilizes high-quality materials and components, including a three-ply violin-grade maple rim, and an exceptionally stable and slender hard rock maple neck, ensuring that it delivers a rich, full sound with excellent clarity and projection. The Goodtimeâ„¢ tailpiece is our own design, the tension hoop is rolled in-house from raw metal. We took time to source the best possible tuners to compliment the Goodtimeâ„¢ affordability and topped it off with the best banjo strings on the market.

Expertly crafted in the Deering Banjo factory located in Spring Valley, California, the Goodtimeâ„¢ Openback 19-Fret Tenor banjo is proudly made in America. Designed for portability, it weighs a mere 4 pounds, making it perfect for travelers, campers, hikers, and beach-goers. Experience its lively and resonant banjo sound in any setting.
