Originally conceived by legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich, its bold lines drew inspiration from classic car styling and the Gibson Explorer™. Epiphone proudly introduces the Futura Firebird Custom—a modern interpretation of a design that was revolutionary when it debuted in 1963. Its sculpted mahogany body features elegant 7-ply top binding and a contoured back for enhanced comfort. A LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece deliver rock-solid intonation and sustain, while Posi-Lok™ strap buttons keep your strap secure without extra hardware. The glued-in mahogany neck sports a fast-playing Modern C profile and a bound ebony fingerboard with 22 stainless steel medium jumbo frets and striking Super 400-style pearloid split block inlays. A 10”-14” compound radius ensures smooth chording and effortless bends. The bound Reverse Firebird headstock is fitted with locking Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, a Graph Tech® nut, and a Firebird truss rod cover bearing the Epiphone logo.
