Finish Details: Original
Top Material: Maple
Body Material: Maple
Neck Material: Mahogany
Fingerboard Material: Rosewood
Neck Profile: "C" profile
Neck Thickness (IN): .82" (!st fret), .98" (12th fret)
Fingerboard Radius: 12.00"
Nut Width: 1-9/16"
Scale Length: 24 3/4"
Electronics: Original Gibson P-90 pickups, and original electronics. Foam was added between the bridge pickup and its cover at some point to prevent rattles. One visible pot code dates to 1965,
Hardware: At some point, other tuners were installed and the holes were reamed out. The original tuners have been reinstalled (with one replaced bushing), however there are a few extra holes on the back of the headstock. The trapeze tailpiece has been replaced with a Maestro vibrola, which was installed like a Bigsby (hinged over the body). Both strap buttons are replaced, and the bottom button has been moved. The bridge pickup tone knob has also been replaced.
Modifications/Repairs: At some point, some of the wood around the truss rod adjustment has been carved away to allow access with a bigger wrench. The area inside the truss rod cavity has been touched up with black and is fully covered by the truss rod cover. A Maestro vibrola has been installed, hinged over the body like a Bigsby. Both strap buttons are replaced, and the bottom one has been moved. The tuner holes have been reamed out, and there are some extra screw holes from previously installed tuners. Foam was added under the bridge pickup cover, and the bridge pickup tone knob is replaced.
Case Details: Original Hardshell Case
Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Gibson ES-330 is in good cosmetic condition, with checking, small dings, and play wear on the glossy finish. There are extra screw holes around the bottom strap button from the original tailpiece, as well as extra screw holes on the back of the headstock (which are mostly covered by the tuners). The area around the truss rod, under the cover, was enlarged by a previous owner, likely to accommodate a larger wrench.
Serial Number: 857386
Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action, and the original frets are low with moderate play wear. The serial number and 16th fret body join date the guitar to 1966.
Trem Arm Included: Yes
