Modifications/Repairs: The guitar has been fully oversprayed. Several back braces have been reglued. Cracks have been repaired on the heel of the neck and treble side of the lower bout. Multiple cracks on the top and back of the body have been repaired and are now stable. The tuner tips and saddle have been replaced. A strap button has been installed on the heel of the neck.
Case Details: Hardshell Case
Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Gibson guitar has aged well and is in good condition. The finish has largely faded to a semi-gloss or matte. It shows extensive checking and widespread sections of finish chipping. The top shows some repaired cracks by the bass side of the tongue, the treble side waist, the center seam of the lower bout, and treble side edge of the lower bout. The back shows some repaired cracks on the treble side lower bout and along its center. The heel of the neck and treble side of the lower bout show visible crack repairs as well. All these repairs are now stable and will not affect playability. The face of the headstock has a visible spot where the truss rod cavity has chipped out; this is purely cosmetic and will not affect any structural integrity. The tuner buttons show some warping and cracking, as well as discoloration, with age but are all still firmly attached. The metal hardware is tarnished with age.
Serial Number: N/A
Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action and optimal neck relief. The frets are narrow and medium height with minimal play wear. The factory order number has faded, but from appointments, we estimate an early 1950s date for this guitar.
