Perfect Ply series drums were designed with the goal of producing a tonally pure, extremely sensitive, and versatile ply constructed drum set. From the shell thickness to the aluminum lugs to the durable polyester finish, nothing was overlooked and no corners were cut. We are proud to say that the results speak for themselves.
Bubinga is an extremely dense hardwood that resonates beautifully and produces a rich low end sounds with a clear and cutting attack. Our 5mm thin shells give the drums a remarkable amount of sensitivity, widens their tuning ranges, and increases resonance. The reinforcement rings help focus the overtones and provide the thin shell with the strength it needs. Bubinga has recently been listed as a protected wood species, so drum kits made from Bubigna are becoming very rare. At Hendrix Drums we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that all of our Bubinga is legally harvested and registered so that we are able to continue offering Bubinga drum kits for years to come.
