Introduced in 1964, the Mustang model was originally designed by Leo Fender to be the brand's student model. But in the hands of trend-setting players, the Mustang's shorter (24") scale length and smaller body shape have made it the go-to choice for guitar players ranging from bands from Nirvana to The Postal Service and The 1975.

Player II Series Series

Named for their player-friendly features, Fender Player II Series instruments feature Modern "C"-shaped necks with rolled fingerboard edges, 9.5"-radius fretboards, and medium jumbo frets. Improving on the previous Fender Player Series launched in 2018, Player II series instruments feature aged plastic parts to add a touch of vintage charm, a new neck tint, and ClassicGear tuning machines for a more classic vibe;plus, never-before-used finishes inspired by vintage automotive colors!
