Functioning much like crotales or other tuned percussion although not tuned to specific notes, the Sabian Tollspire Chimes Set with Bar features 5 cymbals formed from splash blanks into raw, bell-less, conically-shaped chimes for producing a range of melodic effects. Sized in increments of 1/4" from 4.75" to 5.75", the chimes decrease in pitch as they increase in size, and because they are conical and unlathed demonstrate a distinct "white noise" quality that provides depth, dimension and ambiance to the overall tone. Cacophonous and strange, like Tom Waits. Melodic and utilitarian, like drum corp. A versatile, provocative addition for any drummer or percussionist looking to expand their cymbal array.
