Sporting workmanlike features to appeal to the gigging musician, Taylor’s American Dream AD17 spruce/ovangkol lefty models offer players a wide spectrum of tonal frequencies, with a slightly fuller midrange and a bright treble response, accompanied by the clear, low-end power pumped from Taylor’s slope-shoulder dreadnought body shape.
American Dream Series—Spruce/Ovangkol
Made for acoustic players with an earthier, more organic, toned-down aesthetic, Taylor’s American Dream series instruments refines its models down to their essentials, creating guitars that are naturally beautiful, well-made, and most importantly cost less than any other American-made model—sporting simpler, workmanlike features to appeal to the gigging musician.
Featuring a solid spruce top, these American Dream series models are married with ovangkol—an African relative of rosewood—which shares many of rosewood’s tonal properties, including a wide spectrum from lows and highs, but with a slightly fuller midrange and a bright treble response resembling that of koa.
V-Class Bracing
The Taylor Grand Pacific features Taylor’s innovative new V-Class bracing, which lets the soundboard of the guitar vibrate naturally, increasing sustain and overall cohesiveness, and generating additional volume without sacrificing sustain. This design puts the body more in tune with the strings, improving articulation and harmonic alignment, resulting in a sound that is optimally warm and seasoned, nicely blended, and full of luscious low end without being muddy.
