CME Exclusives: Effects Pedals
EarthQuaker Devices
If you're looking to explore the outer limits of tonal space on your guitar, synth, or anything that can be funneled through a 1/4" input, Earthquaker Devices makes the stompboxes you've been searching for. With offerings that are a wild as they are functional, and as musical as they are visually appealing, we're stoked to offer exclusive editions of the Swiss Things Pedalboard Reconciler, the Transmisser Long-Trail Reverb, and the Avalanche Run Stereo Delay/Reverb.

Fuzzrocious
New Jersey-based husband-and-wife duo Ryan and Shannon Ratajski and their team bring us some of the most personal, creative, and customizable pedals in the business, featuring beautiful hand-painted enclosures and designs that are innovative both inside and out.
The tone is in the name - if you're looking for snarling fuzz, high gain overdrive, silky smooth octave fuzz or all of the above, check out our custom colored Grey Stache, the Demon, Cat Tail, Cat King, Afterlife Reverb, or Demon King.
Dunable - SplatterBlaster Stereo Fuzz/Distortion
Chicago Music Exchange has partnered with Dunable Guitars to launch Dunable’s first ever pedal, a two in one stomp box, the SPLATTERBLASTER!
In addition to being the most brutal-sounding pedal ever made, this pedal is also one of the most unique. This is an all analog, dual fuzz and distortion pedal, capable of running two independent circuits in either parallel to one output, or separately into two outputs. This creates many routing possibilities that were previously not possible from just one pedal, and endless sounds, especially combined with other effects. The option to blend a clean signal with either side makes it equally as useful on guitar or bass.
Benson - The Preamp
The circuit of the Preamp is based on the the Benson Chimera 30 watt guitar amplifier, but substitutes FET transistors for the vacuum tubes. The result is an extremely amp-like and versatile clean boost/overdrive/fuzz pedal that imparts rich harmonics and a very musical EQ to your signal chain…truly a Chimera in a box!

Adventure Audio
Glacial Zenith Overdrive/Boost/EQ
The earth moans as a torrent of ice and stone carves its way through the land. And here, atop it all: The Glacial Zenith II. At its most basic, the GZII is a Drive, a 3-band EQ, and a Boost, all in a box together. What really takes it to the peak is the ability to put them in effectively whatever order you want.
Much like a real glacier, the many parts of the Glacial Zenith II are able to shift past one another, allowing the pedal to take many forms. Think of the Drive stage fixed at the center, while the other sections can move around it. The heart of the beast: a churning cauldron of brittle roughness
Fulltone - OCD Black Overdrive/Boost
With an all new output buffer, Class A configured discrete 2N5457 JFET input section, and a switchable "true-bypass" mode, the OCD by Fulltone is truly made for those players who are Obsessively Compulsive about their overdrive tone. Our exclusive model comes in everybody's favorite color - black, and will fit right in sonically, and aesthetically, to anyone's pedalboard.

It may not be the first thing you see when you walk into Chicago Music Exchange but, tucked in the back corner of our store—past the counter, the wall of Les Pauls, and the Gibson thinlines on the left—you’ll find a pair of French doors that open up to our Acoustic Room. Walk in and you’ll find yourself a humidity-/temperature-controlled room, which is essentially a walk-in humidor full of all the six-string (at times, 12-string) acoustic instruments we have, from the most sought-after brands our customers love and are always looking for—all of which can be perused at a glance with one swivel of the head.
