Kyser | Quick-Change Instrument Capos
Find a Kyser Quick-Change Capo That Matches Your Style @ CME!
When Milton Kyser released the Quick Change Capo in 1980, it was the first of its kind—yet, it instantly set the standard for quality and dependability. Now, more recording and performing artists trust Kyser capos than any other brand!
Known for being fast and easy to use (hence their name), Kyser Quick-Change capos let musicians transpose their instruments on the fly with just one hand. Then, when you're not using your capo, it’s just as quick and easy to remove it from the fretboard and park it on the headstock.
Whether you’re looking for acoustic, electric, classical, and 12-string guitar capos or other instruments—from banjo, mandolin, and ukulele capos to partial capos—you can always find the Kyser Quick-Change capos you seek at CME. Plus, with dozens of different colors, including our own CME Exclusive Pacific Peach, you’ll be sure to find one that fits your style!
The Kyser Quick-Change Capo Story
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Milton Kyser spent decades working as a professional machinist, making ball bearings for Texas oil and gas rigs. After purchasing a patent from a friend in 1975, he began developing his Quick-Change Capo and by 1979 invented a trigger mechanism for guitar capos that remains remarkably unchanged to this day.
From the company’s start, Milton did everything himself, by hand, and he’s made sure that every Kyser is still made the same way—by the hands of the Kyser family—in Kaufman, Texas, a 5.6-square-mile town with little more than 3,500 people, and 4 barbecue restaurants.
