In early 1994, Green Day’s Dookie exploded into the mainstream, defining the snotty, lively sound of pop punk, and inspiring a new generation of basket cases to pick up a guitar! Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong had a very simple rig: a heavily modified Fernandes S-Style Electric Guitar and a single modded Marshall 1959SLP (later adding a second 1959SLP to his live rig), and has used a Marshall 1959 to power his playing ever since!

The Marshall 1959BJA Artist Series amp, designed with Billie Joe Armstrong and inspired by Green Day’s Dookie album, is a unique evolution of the legendary 1959. Delivering the raw energy, crunch and enhanced low mids of the original, it captures Billie Joe Armstrong’s signature tone.
Featuring a baby blue finish, brass and silver panels, custom Dookie branding, as well as his signature, this UK-made amp head allows players to pair it with their own cabinet for complete tonal control. This is more than an amp - it’s Billie’s sound, look and attitude in a single piece of gear.
