Duesenberg Starplayer Special Catalina Green

Brand New

Description & Specs

From Duesenberg:

The Starplayer Special is a solidbody guitar with a contoured alder body, screwed neck, two pickups, 22 frets and a 648 mm scale.

This Duesenberg model combines several different concepts in one instrument that is both high quality and affordable. The blanket of the American alder body is slightly contoured, giving the instrument a sophisticated look and ergonomics. The maple neck is screwed four times and has a fingerboard made of East Indian rosewood.

The two humbuckers - a GrandVintage on the neck and the somewhat fat sounding CrunchBucker in the bridge position - deliver a penetrating and powerful rock sound. On the one hand, the multi-tone poti serves as a classic sound aperture, but adds a few single-coil nuances to the sound spectrum when it is fully turned on.
This unusual mix of proven elements makes for an extremely versatile instrument - a rich rock sound with long sustain, striking attack and clarity not expected in this design.

Each of our instruments is equipped with our own hardware. From mechanical buttons to bushing plates, we design them with the utmost dedication to the little details, to build instruments that are unique and completely unique.

All our instruments are laboriously carved and crafted to achieve the best playability and silky feel they are known for.

The Starplayer Special is crafted in a range of original opaque, metallic and sparkle colors that stand out from the crowd.

The first prototype of the Starplayer Special was created in 1992 and was named "Guitar of the Year" in Great Britain in 2003. It is a long-time classic among our instruments and was for many musicians the entry into the Duesenberg world.
