Epiphone Prophecy SG Obsidian Storm Satin

The Epiphone Prophecy series returns with a bold new direction, engineered for players who expect maximum speed, accuracy, and tonal control. Rather than a simple update, this is a ground-up transformation. Designed to satisfy the needs of today’s committed musicians, the latest Prophecy lineup fuses Epiphone’s rich legacy with progressive performance-driven features, resulting in instruments that are assertive, refined, and purpose-built for contemporary playing styles.

Strong, articulate, and visually striking, Prophecy models define the leading edge of Epiphone’s lineup. They deliver elevated craftsmanship, expanded tonal versatility, and high-performance specifications crafted to meet the demands of modem genres.

The new Prophecy SG™ embodies this approach in full. It features a satin-finished mahogany SG Modem body, topped with a maple cap and a highly figured flamed maple veneer, blending classic SG styling with a more modem aesthetic. Its satin, thermally aged one-piece maple neck is reinforced with graphite rods for added strength and lasting stability. The streamlined Hyperglide neck profile promotes fast, fluid playing. A 25.5” scale length further enhances tension and note clarity, making it especially well-suited for lower tunings and modern techniques.

Abound ebony fretboard with a 10”-14” compound radius and 24 stainless steel frets provides a sleek, durable, and precision-oriented playing surface. Black mother-of-pearl block inlays emphasize its contemporary look, while the multi-ply bound headstock, featuring the Epiphone logo and Custom split diamond inlay, adds a distinctly premium touch.

Black hardware reinforces the guitar's modem, aggressive presence. Locking Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, a Graph Tech® nut, and a LockTone™ Modern bridge combine to ensure dependable tuning stability and consistent performance. The through-body tailpiece, inspired by the Frequensator design, improves string tension balance for clear lows, vibrant highs,
enhanced sustain, and smooth bending.

Driving the Prophecy SG’s tonal flexibility are its custom-voiced Fishman® Fluence® pickups, created specifically for this series. These advanced pickups offer three selectable voices via push/pull master volume and tone controls:

• High-output moder active humbucker™ tones
• Classic Patent Applied For-inspired humbucker character
• Clear, single-coil-style articulation

This broad tonal range allows the Prophecy SG to handle high-gain, contemporary styles with ease, while remaining versatile for studio work, practice sessions, and the stage.

With a tight, controlled low end, focused midrange, and exceptional note definition, the Prophecy SG maintains consistency and clarity, even under demanding conditions. Every element is carefully designed for players who refuse to compromise on performance.

For musicians who prioritize speed, comfort, and precision, the Epiphone Prophecy SG delivers. Supplied with a Protector Ultralite case, the rebuilt Prophecy Series brings Epiphone’s next generation of speed, precision, and tonal versatility to players pushing heavy music forward, giving them the tools to turn the sound in their heads into something the whole room can feel, night after night, gig after gig.
