Description
The 1969 Telecaster Thinline Journeyman Relic represents one of the most collectable years for that esteemed model. During this time Fender was looking for lightweight ash body options, ultimately arriving at a semi-hollow body with solid center. This not only making the guitar notably lighter in weight, but also yielded a distinctively warm and resonant tone. In this faithful recreation, a chambered two-piece ash body is smartly decked out in a Journeyman Relic finish. The one-piece quartersawn maple neck has a ’60-style “oval C” profile, topped with a 9.5”-radius fingerboard with 21 narrow tall frets.
Hand-wound Texas Special pickups are connected to a three-way switch and modern Tele wiring. Other features include a three-ply white pearl pickguard, ’69 Tele bridge with notched barrel saddles, “F” tuning machines, bone nut and wing string tree with nylon spacer. Also includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
