The Gibson Memphis ES-335 has been the heart of Gibson’s Electric-Spanish lineup since its introduction in 1958. It’s an undisputed classic, and some of the best came from Gibson’s factory in Kalamazoo, MI. The Gibson Memphis Historic Series '62 ES-335 honors some of the finest semi-hollow jazz boxes to ever come off the Kalamazoo line with components like a rounded early-‘60s neck that features tubeless truss rods for increased sustain, hand-wired Memphis Historic Series humbucking pickups specially calibrated for the perfect vintage-inspired tone, a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body with quarter-sawn Adirondack spruce bracing and centerblock for excellent sustain and resonance with minimal feedback, and a period-correct high-gloss lacquer finish with polished nickel hardware, imparting the true spirit of Kalamazoo inside and out.
