The Custom Shop 0-18K2 CFM IV celebrates that milestone with a vintage gloss finish closely based on what Martin introduced in 1926—capturing the depth, warmth, and luster of those early instruments while reflecting the precision of today’s craft. Built with a striking solid flamed koa body—an homage to the Concertsized all-koa models that were the first to be sprayed with this lacquer finish—it blends tradition and innovation in every detail. From handshaped bracing to time-honored construction, it carries forward the same level of craftsmanship that defined Martin in the early twentieth century—and continues to shape it today. Limited to just 100 instruments, it’s not only a tribute to 100 years of lacquer, but to the enduring artistry beneath it.
