Fender | PLayer Plus Series
New Finishes and Features For The Contemporary Player
Fender celebrates the working musician with the Player Plus Series, core models with advanced features and brand new finishes designed to give contemporary players a leg up on the competition. Two Strats, two Teles, and three basses make up this end-of-summer splendor of Fenders. Let’s dive in.

The Player Plus Stratocaster pushes a trio of Player Plus Noiseless Stratocaster pickups to the forefront, offering a buttery, hum-free tone with push-pull pickup switching for additional variety. High-performance features like a two-point tremolo, locking tuners, 12”-radius fingerboard with rolled edges, and a satin Modern “C”-shape neck make for a playing experience as inspiring as the brand new finishes. Choose from Opal Spark, Tequila Sunrise, Aged Candy Apple Red, Olympic Pearl, and the classic 3-Color Sunburst.
The Player Plus Stratocaster HSS offers a similarly electrifying experience, subbing in a humbucking pickup in the bridge for extra bite. Take your pick of Belair Blue, Cosmic Jade, Silverburst, and 3-Color Sunburst.
The Player Plus Telecaster keeps the twang in the thang with dual Player Plus Noiseless Telecaster pickups and a modern 6-saddle Tele bridge with block steel saddles. It features the same push-pull pickup switching, 12”-radius fingerboard with rolled edges, and satin Modern “C”-shape neck as the Stratocasters, adding Silver Smoke to a selection of Cosmic Jade, Aged Candy Apple Red, and 3-Color Sunburst finishes.
The Player Plus Nashville Telecaster takes that twang a step further for a full-blown chicken-pickin’ powerhouse, decked out with a trio of Player Plus Noiseless Telecaster pickups and finishes like Butterscotch Blonde, Opal Spark, Aged Candy Apple Red, and 3-Color Sunburst.
Fender Player Plus in the BASSment!
The aptly-named Player Plus Precision Bass offers the tone-sculpting advantages of switchable active/passive electronics with a three-band EQ, working in tandem with a mixed PJ pickup set for total control over a full slate of Fender tones. Premium specs like a 12”-radius fingerboard with rolled edges, HiMass bridge, and a Modern “C”-style backshape mean it’s as comfortable as it is punchy. Strap up a Silver Smoke, or throw down with a 3-Color Sunburst, Cosmic Jade, or Olympic Pearl model.
The Player Plus Jazz Bass boasts similar updates, with switchable active/passive electronics, three-band EQ, dual Player Plus Noiseless Jazz Bass pickups, 12”-radius fingerboard with rolled edges, Modern “C”-style backshape, and HiMass bridge. Finishes include Belair Blue, Olympic Pearl, Aged Candy Apple Red, and 3-Color Sunburst.
The Player Plus Jazz Bass V rounds out the series, expanding the nut width from 1.5” to 1.875” and the visual palette from timeless 3-Color Sunburst to new finishes like Tequila Sunrise, Opal Spark, and Cosmic Jade.

Released on September 30, 1982, Nebraska marked a radical departure for Bruce Springsteen. Recorded entirely alone on a four-track TEAC Portastudio in his Colts Neck, New Jersey bedroom, the album was never intended for release. Springsteen had planned to re-record the songs with the E Street Band, but the raw demos—haunting, intimate, and unvarnished—proved more powerful than any full-band attempt. In their imperfection, he found a truth he couldn’t recreate.
