Gibson | Slash Les Paul "4" Limited Edition
Slash Les Paul Standard Limited 4 Album Edition
The limited-edition Les Paul commemorates the launch of Gibson Records’ first studio album by Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators
Chicago Music Exchange is proud to add the Slash Les Paul Standard Limited 4 Album Edition to its wall of Les Pauls—even though it won’t be hanging there for long! Built in commemoration of the first studio album to be released by Gibson Records, 4 is the fifth album by Slash and his fourth to feature Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators.
- Launching a record label that is in service to our artists is the natural evolution of our 127 years of history,” said Cesar Gueikian, Gibson Brand President. “Gibson Records will work with Gibson artists to capture, record and promote their music under an artist-friendly partnership. Gibson Records will keep all of us at Gibson focused on our artist-first culture that is engaged and connected to the music. We are excited to launch Gibson Records, to announce that Slash is our first signed artist and that we have entered into a label partnership with BMG.”
Now a decade since Slash recorded his first album featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, their fourth studio album together, 4, features Slash, of course, on lead guitar and Kennedy on vocals, as well as Todd Kerns (bass), Brent Fitz (drums), Frank Sidoris (rhythm guitar). Produced by Dave Cobb, Slash said of this latest album, “It’s the sound of the five of us just jamming together in one room,” saying additionally that the album captured the spontaneity of the full band’s live, in-the-moment collaboration process.
This special, limited run of 250 guitars crafted by Gibson USA boasts solid mahogany bodies with AAA flamed maple tops in Translucent Cherry finish with the 4 album logo included in the case (Not on the Instrument as Shown) and comes with Slash’s preferred appointments, including a ‘50s neck profile, Gibson Custom BurstBucker™ Alnico 2 pickups, color-coordinated hardware, and hand-wired electronics w/ Orange Drop® capacitors, giving the guitarist’s personal touch to each Slash 4 Album Edition Les Paul.
Each guitar in this limited run comes with a unique hardshell case emblazoned with the 4 album logo and is designed to hold an included copy of the 4 vinyl record alongside the guitar. Case candy for each comprises a Slash 4 sticker, a 4 guitar pick tin containing a variety of pick colors (8-count), and a signed SMKC band portrait.
