Whether you’re a seasoned guitarist or a passionate beginner, the Taylor Legacy Collection offers a selection of beloved models designed to inspire your playing and evolve with your musical journey.

What is the Legacy Collection?
Taylor Guitars’ Legacy Collection showcases some of their most iconic models that have shaped the Taylor acoustic guitar world. These guitars represent the pinnacle of Taylor’s attention to detail, tonewoods, and technology, celebrating the timeless elements that have defined their guitars over the years while incorporating the latest advancements in design and construction. Each model is crafted to deliver the tonal balance, playability, and superior sound projection that players have come to expect from Taylor.

Craftsmanship & Innovation
Taylor Guitars has long been at the forefront of acoustic guitar innovation, with groundbreaking developments like V-Class bracing, Expression System 2 electronics, and precision construction techniques that bring out the natural tonal richness of every guitar. The Legacy Collection features classic Taylor designs, such as the Grand Auditorium, Dreadnought, and Jumbo, but with modern updates that enhance their playability and performance.
Each guitar in the Legacy Collection boasts premium tonewoods—from the warm and resonant solid spruce or cedar tops to the articulate and dynamic rosewood or mahogany backs and sides. These materials are hand-selected to ensure that every guitar delivers the rich, nuanced sound Taylor is known for, whether you’re fingerpicking or strumming chords.
Models That Define the Legacy
The Legacy Collection is a celebration of Taylor’s most cherished models, each offering its own unique voice and character. The collection includes:
- Legacy 810e: re-introducing the iconic Dreadnought shape to the Taylor lineup, the 810e harkens back to Bob Taylor’s earliest builds, combining its shape and spruce/rosewood tonewood pairing to create instantly familiar tones with Taylor’s lauded playability.
- Legacy 855e: Taylor’s 12-string designs help put them on the map, and the 855e pays tribute to that legacy with powerful octave shimmer coming from this Jumbo design.
- Legacy 815e: Pairing the power of the traditional Jumbo body shape with the richness of the rosewood/spruce pairing, the 815e nods to the rich history of the 800 Series that continues to this day.
- Legacy 514ce: introduced in 1994 to celebrate Taylor’s 20th Anniversary, Bob Taylor’s Grand Auditorium shape has defined generations of acoustic guitar performance. The Legacy 514ce combines the warmth of a cedar top, the punch of mahogany, and period-correct appointments, while retaining Taylor’s modern upgrades.
- Legacy 714ce: pairing the cedar top with rosewood back and sides, the Legacy 714ce retains the perfect blend of 90s appointments and modern playability, but with added sonic texture that gives way to Taylor’s lauded balance across all styles of playing.

A 50-year Legacy Of Innovation
The Legacy Collection is just one part of Taylor’s year-long celebration of 50 years of envelope-pushing guitars! From new finishes applied to Taylor’s body shapes trusted by players worldwide to models combining elements of Bob Taylor’s first creations with modern Taylor amenities, each guitar tells the story of how Taylor Guitars became one of the world’s most beloved guitar companies.
